Role Overview:
As a Service Designer at Impact Signal, you’re set to embark on an exciting journey. Your mission: enhance user experiences (UX) and elevate employee satisfaction as you collaborate with our esteemed clients. Your role is akin to being the architect of a symphony, orchestrating the alignment of business objectives with the design process. In this role, you’ll be the bridge between service performance metrics and digital capabilities, the detective identifying user needs, and the problem-solver proposing practical solutions. You’ll also explore the far-reaching implications of digital innovation on various aspects of our clients’ businesses, including alternative service channels, staffing strategies, operational efficiency, and policy refinement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Channel your inner design maestro and integrate human-centered design methods into projects in partnership with our clients.
- Play the role of a storyteller as you analyze and document project outcomes, crafting a narrative that highlights staff efficiency and a user-friendly path to services.
- Unleash your inner explorer, evaluating user and employee experiences across various channels (mobile, web, social media, phone, face-to-face, print, mail, etc.), uncovering hidden opportunities and crafting practical solutions.
- As a craftsman of solutions, you’ll be entrusted with executing user and behavioural field research, leading co-design workshops, and orchestrating prototype design and testing. You’ll craft intricate journey maps, service blueprints, and melodies of process mapping. Your usability testing will be a harmonious tune, and your reports, symphonic. You’ll also compose strategy and roadmap documents.
- Create an epic tale, mapping the entire service journey. Your narrative should reflect the needs, opportunities, solutions, and metrics, creating a compelling narrative that captivates.
- As a conductor, harmonize the specific design and development work into the broader service experience, capturing the crescendo of success with measurable results.
- Collaborate with our clients’ teams, playing the role of a change agent, and co-designing new processes and policies that drive transformation.
- Act as a navigator, guiding the integration of new solutions into our clients’ current service operations, navigating the complex waters of service delivery migration, policy innovation, change management, and shaping the culture and design of the organization.
Qualifications:
A university degree in design, psychology, human factors, human-computer interaction, library science, or equivalent experience as a Service Designer.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in the following areas:
- Expertly applying human-centered design methodologies (e.g., UX, customer experience, service design, interaction design, etc.).
- Planning, conducting, and analyzing behavioral/ethnographic field research, unlocking the stories of user, employee, and business needs and goals.
- Presenting research data in engaging formats that resonate with your audience.
- Proficiency in conducting usability testing, akin to composing a beautiful tune that captivates both in digital and physical realms.
- Ability to shift focus seamlessly from granular details to the broader symphony, understanding the interconnections.
- Using advanced communication skills to build harmonious relationships with staff at all levels of an organization and convey the value of service design.
- Crafting visual representations of user needs, crafting co-design workshops that engage and inspire.
- Digital services, including those with a significant digital presence and other delivery channels.
- Imparting your wisdom to small, cross-functional teams in the art of service design.
- Crafting service metrics and measures, providing the notes of success.
- Planning, conducting, analyzing findings, and composing stories from co-design workshops with service users.
- Navigating organizational change, from policy refinements to staffing strategies and more.
- Leading diverse teams, ensuring they march to the beat of success.
